Re: needy asker is needy (illness)

some recs, slash or gen, anyverse, any rate with Holmes and-or Watson dealing with an illness like asthma, diabetes, etc, just something that makes them vulnerable to each other

Let's see. Most of what I have is BBC. I'll note any exceptions.

Note - I'm listing all the various things I have tagged relating to illness, although they may not play up the vulnerability in quite the way you have in mind.

John, ill
Consumed by [livejournal.com profile] ancalime8301 (ACD verse)
Warning: tragic. Watson learns that he has tuberculosis after Holmes' 'death' at Reichenbach. He keeps a stiff upper lip about it. (This qualifies under respiration problems for your request, but it is not really a manageable illness in this 'verse.)

Underneath the Black Night by [livejournal.com profile] miss_variety (ACD verse)
Warning: tragic. Sounds similar to the above if summarized, but in this case Watson keeps even more quiet about his illness.

Sherlock, ill
Adjusting by [livejournal.com profile] mogwai_do
This one is unusual - it's an AU in which Sherlock's illness is vampirism. Being Sherlock, he gets distracted and doesn't take care of himself properly.

Chronic by [livejournal.com profile] atroppa (IBS)
May not be accessible.

Familiar Pain by [livejournal.com profile] plain_jane08
Sherlock has been concealing the fact that he has IBS because he doesn't want to deal with John's reaction to it.

Kryptonite by [livejournal.com profile] fanbot
Sherlock is allergic to lilac.

Low by [livejournal.com profile] lindor1306
Sherlock has diabetes. John would've preferred to find out about this some other way than by Sherlock collapsing at a crime scene. The Yard team is treated sympathetically in this one.

Wrong Order by [livejournal.com profile] dayja
Sherlock is allergic to mint. Some of the Yard team try to play a practical joke with this, with very serious results.
