(BBC) fic search: John fills Sherlock's shoes after he's gone

Alright, this is driving me batty. I've been through at least 300 fics and four different tags on two separate archives in the last 24 hours, and I still can't find a fic I know I read two days ago.

Best as I can recall it goes something to the effect of:
- Sherlock's dead
- Lestrade comes to John asking him to help on a case
- John finds himself more aware of the minute details than he ever thought he was before
- Towards the end there's a line about how now he's "the world's only consulting detective".

It wasn't very long, just a little ficlet sort of thing that covered those bases.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me, marathon-reading is obviously not good for short-term memory recall.

ETA: Found! "Alone On The Water" I can't believe I didn't realize that was the same fic as the one I was looking for! So much for marathon-reading, eh?

It's far from a little ficlet (over seven thousand words) but Alone On the Water (http://archiveofourown.org/works/210785) does tick all of your boxes nicely, albeit the latter three all in the last paragraph.

Ah! How many times did I skip over that fic, going "no, that was the one where..." No wonder I thought it was short, I didn't realize they were the same thing.
