Please don't pass around the stories that [livejournal.com profile] kate_lear has taken down. As she explained in the post linked above (also easily found by going straight to her lj), she's publishing some of her ACD fics. Since she's trying to earn a living as a writer, please consider buying the stories you're after; she's only taken down the ones that are being published.

Look, I'm one of her regular betas, and I don't even have copies of all of her final versions. But I am planning to buy the books when I need a treat. Please just consider what it means for Kate to know people want her stuff enough to buy it. Thanks!

No worries, and I definitely don't want to pick on you. I'm kicking myself for not snagging her stories when I had the chance, but I didn't have my own reliable computer then either. I just wanted to make the point that we should respect an author's choices for her stories - if the way to get them now is to buy them, then it's up to us to either pay or do without (or read one of her BBC fics!).

Thanks for the friendly reply!
