I'm so partial to Holmes and Watson that good Lestrade fics are completely lost on me unfortunately.
You probably have a point about the AUs. I read one today which was a few minor changes in the plot of EMPT. We should have a different word for fics that do that... Although ironically, the only Holmes fic I've ever been able to write was an AU.
Hmmm... I'll have to go see which fics were yours.
