financially poor Watson

Hi,
I'm searching for stories where Watson lacks money to buy all he wants and/or needs and someone (either Sherlock or Mycroft or anyone really) tries to rectify this. All fandoms from book canon to the BBC series.
Slash/Gen are both ok.
One example of this is the wonderful story 'With this Pen' by Jems Bird. Near the beginning Holmes notices that Watson is smoking cheap tobacco, writing with a leaky pen and foregoing his favorite but expensive sweet because he is neglecting his practice in favor of Holmes' cases and can't comfortably afford it.
Another story is a BBC!Sherlock story where Mycroft (I believe) sends Watson a warm and expensive coat he saw in a shop but regretfully had to leave behind despite the freezing temperatures (Incidentally I would really like to read this story again if somebody knows it, because sadly I have no idea where I read it)
Anyone know any stories along similar lines? I would be very grateful, thanks!
