Holmes hurting/offending Watson and getting told off by someone else, and what's your fave AU?

Hey folks--I'm hoping for stories where Holmes does something that leads to Watson being hurt (physically or emotionally) or really offended, and doesn't notice/get it/understand, and gets reprimanded or alerted or reamed for it by a sympathetic third party. Lestrade or Mycroft or whoever. And then Holmes is all "holy shit!", or at least "...damn" and tries to fix it, possibly with a slightly belated protective!Holmes reflex kicking in.

The level of hurt/offense could be anything from "ran off in a fit of enthusiasm and left John in a collapsing building" to "said something obliviously nasty about something important".

I'm mainly into the BBC Sherlock verse, which I think may be be most conducive to this sort of situation, but the movie and ACD canon seem likely to have an oblivious Holmes as well. Sherlock/John is my preference, but gen stuff is great too. Happy endings please :3

(If you know a fic with all of the above, except that Holmes figures out he did something wrong on his own, that's good too, I'm just especially in the mood for Mycroft or whoever sweeping in and being all "my goodness you idiot, can't you see what you've done?")

ghost!Holmes comes back to 221B to help Watson find his murderer (H/W slash)

I'm pretty sure this one was either book!Holmes&Watson or Granada!Holmes&Watson... I don't think it was Ritchie!Holmes&Watson but I could be wrong. I remember many elements of the story but I can't find anywhere and it's driving me crazy: there should be enough details to be recognized pretty easily though :)


The plot went like this: Holmes is dead, seemingly from natural causes or an overdose he brought on himself, I think Watson found him in his bedroom. He's heartbroken, of course, as is Mrs. Hudson and they arrange a funeral and everything. Watson keeps staying in 221B even if he can't afford the rent by himself and I think he ventures into Holmes' room about a month after his death to finally clean up his friend's things.

In the meanwhile he starts to see and feel strange things, a presence and things seemingly moving by themselves and the like. Eventually Watson understands that Holmes is somehow still there with him and, although he thinks he's going crazy. After a while he gets sort of used to the idea. Holmes is back because he knows he's been murdered and he knows who did it it, but for some reason he can't say it straight and clearly to Watson, he can only leave clues to him and make suggestions.

There is also slash: Holmes is invisible at first, but little by little he starts to focus his strength on making himself visible until Watson can see him perfectly fine. He's still incorporeal though, they still can't touch each other and I think they discover that they can when Watson is asleep. Somehow Holmes enters the realm of sleep with him, they can finally touch, yadda yadda, and they have sex (obviously XD).

After a while Watson finds a flatmate, a young man I think, who seems perfectly nice and normal and who collects bugs and butterflies and the like. Problem is he's actually Holmes' murderer and when Watson finds out the young lodger attempts to kill Watson too by injecting him with a poison. I really can't remember how but Watson is saved at the last minute, the murderer is arrested and I think ghost!Holmes stays with Watson in 221B (there was a happy ending, if I'm seriously not mistaken).
