Demon John

I'm loosing my mind and fic. In the last three days I read a AU story that John was a demon. The summary was somthing like in a world where demons were either very beautiful or really horrible, Sherlock had never met one that was forgettable and had a fondness for ugly jumpers. John thought at least his jumper was comfortable unlike Sherlock's shirt that was two sizes too small. That's not it exactly but it's as close as I can remember. Did I just imagin this? Help.

I read this a few months ago, not sure which site, but in it John is out and about (Shopping?) and he is mugged (1 or more assalients?) and severaly beaten.  He gets a bad concusion and is severally disorintated but manages to find a payphone and call Sherlock.  He isn't making a lot of sense, but Sherlock manages to figure out what happened and after a great deal of confusion manages to find and save him.  I think it was either a friend only or pre-slash fic.  I think there might have been something about a yellow awning or sign?
