Help! Searching for a fic...

I've been searching for a fic for quite some time, but i'm afraid i cant tell you that much about it; I remember that war veterans are being attacked, and at some point Holmes and Watson are being chase and Watson is shot by this man. Before this, Watson recognizes the gun to be a jezail weapon instantly from the sound of the first shot.I think they were near the river when the poor Doctor is wounded...Well, does it sound familiar to any of you ???
i hope somebody can help me find it; it was quite a great fic, i cant explain how is it that i lost it!
