Missing persons fics

I was recalling a high school paper I did on Jack the Ripper. I remember reading that in the time Jack the Ripper was active, both New York and London had several kids go missing. One was 5000, the other was 3000. Can't remember which city had which number. Mind you, these were the kids whose parents actually went to the police and reported their disappearance. I'm sure there were drunk or drugged parents/guardians who cared nothing for their charges, or actually forced the kids out into the streets.

But now I'm wonder if any parents/relatives worried about their missing kids would have found their way to Holmes' doorstep and begged his help.

Our John fic

I've been trying to find a fic I thought I added to memories. (I guess I didn't.)

It's a fic where Mary is hiding her illness, (TB) Holmes agrees to keep quiet and starts searching for cures for consumption. I remember the line about rejoicing in the jails when a rumor starts that The Great Detective SH might have a form of consumption.

At the end of the fic, Mary tells Holmes she trust him to take care of "our John" when she's gone.

Does this ring any bells? (Animal, put up that bell!)

Does anyone know if there are any H/W comics, or doujinshi, I think that's what they're called, available for download? I remember there was one comic and a great one which I downloaded, but I lost it... I would be much obliged. :D
