I remember reading a fic that was based on the film scene on the boat.

I seem to recall that it was Holmes feeling guilty after standing back and making Watson shovel coal, and Watson's old war wounds played up because of it.

And because I'm at that stage of the film (I'm re-watching it as I type) anything that focuses on the explosion from a Holmes/Watson view point.
