Why Watson's Injury Changed Place Fic Search

Hey guys, I'm looking for a fanfiction I read awhile back so I can share it with my friend. I believe in it someone insulted Watson for being a bad writer because he couldn't even keep straight where his injury was -- and it went on to have Holmes recounting a time when some bad guy used the injury against him. So he suggests that Watson change the place where his injury is in his stories. Sorry, my memory is a little vague.

Anyways, I've been reading a lot of Holmes/Watson fanfics lately, but have also started to read the original stories as well. I was wondering which of Conan Doyle's stories are the best or your favorites. Particularly with Holmes and Watson bromance, like The Adventure of the Three Garridebs. Please and Thank you!
