Introduction to SH Fanfiction

I am new to the Sherlock Holmes fandom so I am a little overwhelmed- what are the best stories out there to introduce me to SH fanfiction?

I'd love to read some stories about Sherlock and Watson's relationship- but I want friendship fics.

Also, while watching the movie, I thought Holmes' and Mycroft's (sp?) relationship was so intriguing... they both seem so deliciously messed up and so I was wondering if there are any stories that delve into their childhood?

I only want gen stories so please no slash :)

Edit: So apparently I need to specify 'verse here- I'm looking for fanfiction based on the recent movies with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law :)

I've been reading the fics on several rec lists, but one I can't seem to locate is "Akin to Love" by Melody Clark. The Delicious bookmarks are down, and it seems the author has taken down the sites it was on, as well as the file itself.

If anyone has it saved to their computer or archived somewhere, I'd really appreciate it if you could share it! Thank you very much in advance!

I'm looking for any fics that might highlight the brotherly relationship between Sherlock and Mycroft, something a little deeper than the aloof surface-level. I have no preference as to ACD!canon, movie-verse, or the tv shows.

Sherlock accidentally shrinks John down to doll size or so and he has to get the thing that did it out. He uses a q-tip and swallows so then he shrinks as well.

Hi! I have a few requests, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm mainly looking for Holmes/Watson fics where the boys come out about their relationship (to whom is not important) or fics where somebody finds out about their relationship (catches them in the act, notices a distinct change in their behaviour etc).

Secondly, anything that involves Mycroft playing matchmaker, where he tries to set John up with his brother (or vise versa)

Lastly, are there any fics out there where John starts dating Mycroft in an attempt to make Sherlock jealous?

Book verse or Guy Richie's film verse is preferable :)
