Hello,

I'm looking for fic where Sherlock is truly a high functioning sociopath. Short, long, slash, or gen. I'd love a good look at his character as a sociopath. Dangerous of course.

Well, just to get the inevitable rec out of the way, [livejournal.com profile] wordstrings's "Paradox" series (the sticky post at the top of her journal gives a links list for the series) is S/J slash featuring a Sherlock who might not be truly *sociopathic*, but who isn't normal (or safe) by anyone's standards. Great stuff. Lyrical, mad and memorable.

The Sherlock in this one isn't exactly a socopath, but he's certainly dangerous, and might well be the sort of thing you're looking for. Dark, non-con, with heapings of angst: http://sherlockbbc-fic.livejournal.com/575.html?thread=16191#t16191

A gorgeous series with sort-of-autistic!Sherlock: Sustain (or Concerto for the Famished in D Minor) and its sequel Sustain II - Refrain by maybe_amanda & Onemillionnine - "So now you're behaving like a six year old 'cause he didn't take you along on his honeymoon?" Lestrade said. "Grow the hell up." (Sherlock/Molly)

How about a Sherlock who really does, as Sally suggests, get off on it?

The Fine Art of Distraction by Sapphy, featuring a profoundly sadistic, and masochistic, Sherlock, with a raft of urges related to pain, violence, and death: http://archiveofourown.org/works/315570
