So there are a lot of these, I know, where John and Sherlock meet at uni and strike up a friendship, yada yada yada. I'll try and be as specific as possible:

So they meet when Sherlock deduces that John's then-girlfriend is actually cheating on him with his supposed best friend. John gets mad, but Sherlock is stunned to realize that John isn't mad at him, but rather his friend--evidently Sherlock is used to the "kill the messenger" mentality--and John sort of intrigues him from there. I think John's friend later tries to beat Sherlock up, and John comes to his rescue, still all gruff and angry, but not with Sherlock. It gets sort of vague after that. I know it's a lot of Sherlock introspection about how he doesn't actually need John or want him around, even though he totally does. It was WIP last I saw it, and I have since forgotten what it was called. It was on ff.net, I believe. The last thing I remember was Sebastian Wilkes was being a wanker to Sherlock in the labs, trying to get him to go out with him and his buddies to humiliate people, and scoffed at him when he said he had plans with John. John got all possessive and bristly and stuff when he came to pick Sherlock up. That is literally all I remember. If anyone can find this, you'd be my hero forever.
