I don't think any of these are the one you are looking for but I thought I would mention them in case I was wrong.

While I was looking for the one I think you are trying to find a few scences passed through my mind. In the story you are looking for is Sherlock on Scene with Donovan when he gets a call that makes him almost faint? I can't find that one, but I was wondering if that scene was in it if It would help someone else find it.

It's closest to the third one. I remember a part where Donovan walks into the bedroom to find John there. It had several chapters and were in different characters perspectives.

Yeah I didn't think it was any of those. I have a feeling I have read the one you are asking about, but I can't find it either.
