Magic Works?

Not entirely sure that this is the right place to be posting, but it's worth a try. If not, I'm very sorry, and please feel free to delete, mods.

Does anyone know what happened to, or where I could find, the story Magic Works by Melandria? All the links I've found are for AO3 or fanfiction.net and neither of them work.

If it's not available online, did anyone download the pdf from AO3 that they could send to me? (I'm not even sure that that's okay, to share work like that. Is it? If it's not, please ignore).

So, I don't know the story and this might not be of any help at all, but I did some googling. Here are my deductions ;-)

-On a tumblr I found a post where it said that the story 'L’ultima vertigine' was written by Melandria too. Some googling seems to verify that. The tumblr owner also complained that 'Magic Works' had vanished only two posts before that, so it is likely that the stories were written by the same author. Especially as 'L’ultima vertigine' also vanished from AO3 and ff.net. However, there was a link on the tumbler which led me to 'L’ultima vertigine' still posted on bbcsherlock.livejournal.com (mabye the author forgot to delete it there)

-It was posted there by someone called gold_dusted, so this might possibly be a pseudonym of Melandria. The journal is f-locked but there is a link to a writing journal rhapsodious.

-'Magic Works' isn't posted on that journal, neither is 'L’ultima vertigine' however, there are stories posted there which are also posted on AO3 under the pseudonym AlbaNix.

-To tie it all together, two of AlbaNix's stories show up when you search for 'Melandria' on AO3. So maybe she changed her Nickname there and the search engine still has some old settings saved?

No guaranty that your Melandria is the same Melandria aka gold_dusted aka rhapsodious aka AlbaNix but it seems possible. To make a rather long matter very short, you could ask rhapsodious on lj or comment on AlbaNix's newest story on AO3 (updated only five days ago so the account is still active) if she wrote 'Magic Works' and what happened to it.

If an author goes to so much trouble to delete a story it is unlikely that they will send it out. However, you might get lucky and get it from her, or maybe she can at least tell you why she took it down. Maybe it's just undergoing a rewrite and will be back soon?
