Oops! . Do you mean, why aren't they showing up on the side? Because I knew I was forgetting something.

I'm the only one (besides any moderators that happen to join) that can add tags. Comm members can use existing tags.

I really love how spnstoryfinders tags. It's quite convenient.

Please correct me if I didn't quite understand what you meant. I really would like this comm to be uber friendly so feedback is grand!

I think this is a REALLY important part of a community like this. Being able to find previous searches makes life a whole lot easier and will help to reduce the amount of duplicate requests posted.

Perhaps you should add something in the userinfo about checking the tags for similar searches to see if your query hasn't already been asked & answered before you post a new search?

Also, I think every post should have tags for pairing, characters, genre & type (i.e. fic/art/vid/etc) as a minimum requirement. As well as a tag for which verse the thing they are looking for is set in, if applicable.

Is it possible to create tags without actually attaching them to a post? If so, I would be happy to create a substantial tag list, if you wouldn't mind making me a co-mod?

I was also thinking about adding a tag "found" plus adding something in guidelines about editing your post when the search is over. What do you think?

Just a quick question does the search have to be for a specific fic? Or can I ask for a general type, like say "rdjudesie with xyzplot"?
Some comms allow anything but I've seen a couple that only allow looking for a specific fic so I figured I'd check.
Great work on the comm anyway, I was hoping I'd find one for Holmes sooner or later.

You can ask for general types of fic. That's no problem. Sometimes you're just in the mood for something in general. So if you want steampunk fic, or first time fic, or a certain pairing, then post away.

Hmmm...I'm not having that trouble. It most certainly shouldn't be screened and it was not set-up to be so.

I have to admit I feel rather uneasy about real-person fanfics. All those requests for RDJ/Law fics are starting to be really disturbing. :( I don't think that a mere fact that those two guys played H/W characters in a movie makes those requests appropriate.

I can understand your concerns. RPF is not for everyone. However, the comm rules allow for RPF requests at this time. If, however, it becomes the prevailing theme, we will revisit the topic and perhaps take a poll of our members. As the comm grows, it may be more efficient if there was a RDJ/Law RPF finding comm.

We'll definitely keep an eye on the situation.

I have a question. I noticed that katieforsythe/wordstrings has deleted her LJ accounts. Since she is one of, if not the most beloved author in this fandom, I feel people should be aware in case they need to backup her stories via Ao3 or Liquidfic.

Would a post directing people to these sites be appropriate for this comm? Although her stories are not lost yet, they might soon be.

LJ TOS and Move?

I was wondering whether this comm will be leaving for DW, as many of the active Holmesian LJ comms are now doing because of the change to the TOS. Any comm that has material that the Russian government might disapprove of is at potential risk. That includes queer-friendly fanworks.

I moved over to DW myself and will eventually delete and purge my own journal here, so I wondered about this comm's status.
