So the entire series is now available on Netflix Instant Watch (and in my queue, natch). But there are quite a few of them! Which episodes (or movies) are your favorites?

I really like the dancing man and the crooked man and the empty house

Personally, The Red Headed League. It has a wonderful mix of seriousness and comedy. Same with the Six Napoleons.

Scandal in Bohemia is one of my favourites, mostly because I do love Irene (and I much prefer this version to the film version).

Can't beat empty House for Holmes-Watson interaction though IMO. Honestly the actual catching of the criminal is utterly irrelevant. It's all about the Holmes-Watson relationship.

Since Jeremy's illness made his appearance change over time, and the transition of the two Watsons is brilliantly positioned at the great Hiatus, I strongly recommend watching the series in order. Or at least watching the Adventures and the Empty House episode before going on with the Hardwickes.

The Six Napoleons is a truly lovely episode, especially for Lestrade, but I can see where it would be jarring out of sequence!

I loved the Eligible Bachelor.

Also Final Problem, Empty House, Musgrave Ritual and Dying Detective were good ones.

The Granada version of The Hound of the Baskervilles is nothing special. In fact, it was rather boring for me as i've seen nearly all of the other incarnations of this Holmesian classic, but it did have a spectacularly hilarious scene where Holmes sort of cooks for Watson and is ridiculously disappointing when Watson doesn't eat it.

Scandal in Bohemia is only good because of Holmes' absentminded dismissal of the King, wherein Watson has to continually step in and act the gentleman. Hilarious.

Red Headed League is simply brilliant because of the simultaneous outburst of laughter from at first Watson and then the "ever in control" Holmes.

Speckled Band is a classic.

As for exciting mysteries, my personal favorite was Adventure of the Abbey Grange and The Musgrave Ritual.
