Novel Length Amazing Works

Hi All!

I am after some Epic novel-length Holmes/Watson fics. I have read a lot of the standards, so anything off the beaten path would be great. '09 movie, BBC verse, Canon... I'll take them all!

I'd love a mystery and a first time romance, and I'm particularly interested in any post- Game of Shadows fics-- I haven't read much in that universe since BBC Sherlock came out.

Watson gets re-enlisted into the Army (against Holmes' wish)

Hi! I'm looking for a fic in which Holmes and Watson have an established slash relationship, and there is war brewing. Watson receives a letter (via message boy or post, I forget) telling him that he must serve in military again in this war. Watson heads off to war, and Holmes asks Mycroft if anything can be done to get Watson back home.

Holmes really wants Watson back home, but Watson kinda has a sense of pride about serving in the military. Eventually Watson does get cut from the Army (the official reason being that he is disabled, I think), and comes home to Baker Street. Watson is bummed and feeling inferior and angsty. When he finds out Holmes was the one who reported him as disabled (or something like that), Watson gets mad at Holmes but of course all is forgiven in the end.

I'm quite sure it;s movie-verse, or at least Victorian.
Might have been on the shkinkmeme, I'm not sure.
Decent length fic, split over 5 or so chapters.

Please help, it was a really good fic! Very meaty and oh-so-lovely angsty with the emotions from the two of them.

I remember a scene where Watson is putting on his old army uniform, and Holmes is in the room. Holmes asks how he feels, and Watson says something like "I feel brave" (etcetc) after he detects no hint of laughing-it-off from Holmes.

Another scene is the night before Watson must leave-- Holmes stops into the tobaccoist, buys Watson's favorite brand and tells the tobaccoist there is no need to inquire about Watson for some time, he'll be away for a while.

canon/movie-based Empty House AU

I think this fic was canon or RDJ-verse (certainly not BBC). It's an AU of Empty House, with a disguised Holmes somehow coming into Watson's care (he collapsed or something? I don't remember that part). Holmes ends up in Watson's house, and I think even in his bed. Holmes slipped something (I think it was a ring?) into Watson's pocket and Moran showed up, pretending to be a policeman.

I remember some parts so clearly and the rest... not so much. Rather maddening. :-p

Looking for Specific Watson Sic Fic

I am looking for a specific fanfic I read several months ago. It may be ACD, RJD, or Grenada-verse. What I rememeber is that Holmes has a case and is running all over London with Watson. Watson is starting a relapse of his fever that he suffered from in the war and trying despeately hard to hide it from Holmes. I remember Watson worring about what good he would be to Holmes if he couldn't even try to keep up. Watson finally collapses chasing Holmes halfway up a hill in the middle of the street, frighteing Holmes half to death. Holmes takes him home and nurses him back to health feeling very guilty that he didn't notice. It could be a pre-slash, slash, or a gen fic(with heavy pre-slash overtones). That part I can't remember.

Does this sound familar to anyone?

Going slightly mental looking for three fics.

1) RDJ Holmes fic from the kinkmeme, where Holmes has been kidnapped. The kidnappers put him in a straightjacket, cover his eyes with wax, and possible put earplugs in.

2) Victorian era FINA au (pretty sure it was canon and not RDJ verse, but I can't be sure) where Holmes falls off the cliff but survives. He spends several chapters in a coma while Watson looks after him.

3) Short fic from the BBC meme where Sherlock really jumped. I just remember one part where John is bathing him and he's watching the ripples in the water.

Actually, if anyone can recommend any fics where Holmes jumps/falls for real and survives, I'd greatly appreciate it.

rich!Sherlock commoner!John slash recs please?

Hi!

So, I read many fics where it's supposed that the Holmes family is very rich/noble. I don't know if it's true in canon (don't kill me, I haven't read the books yet! I only saw the recent movies and the BBC version) but I'm looking for fics where Sherlock being rich/an aristocrat is important for the plot. Preferably slash, Sherlock/John (and I do prefer bottom!John) , but gen is welcomed too (but no het!)
The longer the better, AU, mpreg, angst (but with a happy ending please), gir!John, romance ... I love them all.
I hope you'll have lots of recs to send my way! (you can even rec me fics in french if you have any!)

Sherlock Holmes / Iron Man Crossover ?

I'm looking to find a specific ficlet I read awhile back. In it, Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark are the same person and he is somehow immortal but Watson is not. Stark/Holmes is missing his dead lover/friend and tries to make the computer generated voice of Jarvis sound as much like Watson as possible.

IIRC, the story itself is fairly short but very impactful.

MODs: I looked for death or immortality tags but didn't see any. Hopefully the ones I chose will be sufficient.

Manipulative-but-in-love Holmes...

In this story, which I believe was written shortly after the '09 movie, Holmes and Watson had just begun living together. When Watson comes home late one night inebriated and rent-less (due to gambling?), Holmes decides to use the "lack of funds for coal" front to quite literally insert himself in Watson's bed for warmth. They share a bed for a bit and get closer and have a few awkward sexual encounters that Watson never acknowledges during the day. Finally Watson discovers a bunch of coal that had been delivered but hidden by Holmes to keep up his little facade. Watson gets upset but the two eventually communicate and begin a romantic relationship. I'd very much appreciate any help in tracking this story/author down!

I'm looking for gender swap fics, but very specifically ones in which John is a woman, and Sherlock is a man. I would like if there was Fem!John/Sherlock, but I'm fine even if there isn't and it drives everyone mad because how on earth do they live together? That's it. Must-reads

I've poked around the canon fandom and I'm a big fan of the Sherlock fanfics but I haven't found many good fics based on the RDJ movies. Any tips? What are the must-reads in this fandom? I would prefer gen or Holmes/Watson slash.
