This is very vague, I am sorry, but I wrote down the titles of these books and now I can't find it anymore and am quite desperate for it.

I remember they had been recommended to a user on the holmeswatson09 community a couple of years ago. They were a pastiche, a series of at least 3 books, darkish coloured covers. They were slashy/bromance and at least one of them was dedicated to Holmes' past. The author was selling them in lulu.

I found out that it's quite hard to find an engaging Sherlock Holmes book. Most authors use SH only as a platform for the introduction of their own Mary/Marty Sues and twist Holmes and Watson into a pretzel to fit them their OCs (Laurie R. King, I'm looking at you) or they make Holmes a bastard and Watson an idiot (like Val Andrews did in "The Torment of Sherlock Holmes").

But I love books that focus on Holmes and Watson's relationship or show it in a very unusual, intriguing way. So far, the best books I've come across are Anthony Horowitz's "The House of Silk" - a wonderful, wonderful example of what Holmes and Watson's friendship should be like! - and Neil Gaiman's "A Study in Emerald" - which made me crave to find out more about Holmes and Watson of that world!

So, would you be so kind, my dear fellows, and rec me a book you particularly liked? A book that you felt showed Holmes and Watson's friendship in a wonderful light? An author who really "got" Holmes and Watson?

Hi!

I'm not looking for a fic but for a canon story (sorry if this is not allowed, but I don't know where esle to ask...) It's set after the Hiatus and before the events of "The Three Garridebs." I don't remeber what the case was, but near the end Holmes and Watson are sitting in a restaurant (?) and Watson notices Holmes looking at him with "tenderness" or "affection" or something along those lines (I think it´'s because Watson has just told him that he likes working with him or something like that.)

I'm sorry this is so vague. Thanks for your help!

Can anyone recommend to me some decent published Holmes fanfiction? Not relatively obscure books like Rohase Piercy's, (what an awesome name) but something that I might conceivably be able to get at my local library or bookstore?

Preferably something with Holmes and Watson in it, so not Mary Russel or those books from the POVs of Adler or Moriarty.

Also, does anyone know if there's any fanfiction for the Vasily Livanov or Basil Rathbone series? I've found two for the latter, and wrote one for the former, but surely there must be more - Rathbone was Holmes for a long time.

Hi everyone!
I was looking for actual slash Sherlock Holmes books, not online fic or stories of any kind, no fanzine, but actual books sold in actual book stores. I have to make some gift for some friend, so! I'd love if any of you could suggest me the title of some book s/he may have red. Thanks! :D

Hi,not sure if this is allowed. If not, I'm sorry, my first post here.

Anyways, I've been reading a lot of Holmes/Watson fanfics lately, but have also started to read the original stories as well. I was wondering which of Conan Doyle's stories are the best or your favorites. Particularly with Holmes and Watson bromance, like The Adventure of the Three Garridebs. Please and Thank you! Much Love to everyone who helps. <3

Good evening all

I spent the past few days happily reading H/W fics, what a guilty pleasure (thanks to this site. LOL).

What I know of Sherlock Holmes, comes from tv series that i half remember, fics I have read, but mostly my interest in H/W surfaced because of the latest Sherlock Holmes movie.

Do you think I should read the actual original works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle? Which stories do you recommend (are there any with subtext in them)? Can I find the stories online somewhere?

I don't remember what ACD story this scenario is from.

Holmes comes home (or to a shared hotel room, I dunno), and asks Watson if he would be alarmed to be near/share close quarters with a madman, or something along those lines. Watson is confused and answers in the negative. Holmes seems satisfied by this, and I think that's when the conversation ends.

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can find FREE downloadable podcasts of any of the actual books? Not an old time radio version where we only get the conversation and sound effects, but the real books, word for word as ACD wrote them?

Thanks,

Fritti

So I recently read My Dearest Holmes, and loved it.

My question is if there are any more Sherlock Holmes books that lean towards the relationship between Holmes and Watson? I would really like to read them. c:
